Great outdoor activities that you can do right in your own backyard, no matter where you live!

We are using Apologia Science’s Exploring Creation Through Zoology 1: Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day” for part of our third grade science curriculum. But we also like nature study, so we use the extra project days in the Zoology I lessons as an opportunity to do some of the activities from the Outdoor Hour Challenge, a series of nature study activities on the Handbook of Nature Study website.

Yesterday, Barbara posted some nice suggestions for easy activities to do to wrap up the month of April. We have a “nature walk” day scheduled on Monday, so I think we’ll use this weekend to complete the activities at the link, below.
